For the Past 4 days The Flemings have been proud owners of Luna, a 8 month old Black Lab puppy, and so far life has been good to us. But, the past 4 days has also given me alot of time to reflect on the pros and cons of owning a pet. Don't get me wrong, our family (with the exception of Miles - who loves Luna but just doesn't want her near him) loves Luna. Already she's become part of our family, and she fits right in with her crazy antics. But in case you're considering pet adoption here are a few pros & cons to consider:
Pro #1 - Brisk am walks/jogs/runs
Con #1 -Brisk am walks/jogs/runs
Pro #2 -Having another person to share your life with - Life is fun with Luna, a little stressing with miles on my lap, Zoe asking a gazillion questions and a 35lb dog sitting on my feet, but fun none the less
Con #2-Having another person to share (but not contribute to) your financial budget- In for days we managed to spend $200. on this dog!! She's gonna have to get a part-time seeing eye dog position or something... lol
Pro #3 -Being greeted every morning with a wagging tail - She seems happy all the time, I wonder what dogs think about all day - I'd love to have that kind of positive outlook on life all day.
Pro #3 -Having that wagging tail unexpectedly whack you against your leg - Did I tell you how strong this dog was? one tail whack and you're limping for sure.
Pro #4 - Having a fast learning dog who will do anything to please you - In four days Luna has learned to sit, heel, and is working on stay.
Con#4 - Having a fast learning dog who will do anything to please you- In four days Luna has learned how to push the chair from in front of the kitchen door and get into the kitchen and "serve herself dinner".
Pro #5 - Health Benefit - I mean come on...how can you not be healthy with a dog? You take long walks, your stress levels are lower, you have someone who you can tell all your problems to who wont judge you....
Con#5 - Long walks in the rain, long walks in the wind...
